· Staff Development

The NDA provides its employees with the opportunity to continually improve their capabilities to effectively and efficiently respond to the demands of their respective jobs. In 1999 the NDA staff participated in 57 trainings, seminar-workshops, conventions and trainings, two of which were conducted abroad.

In 1999 the NDA was adjudged as having the Most Outstanding Accounting Office among agencies adopting the decentralized accounting system in the corporate sector. The award was given by the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines in a ceremony held November in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

· Institutional Promotion

The NDA participated in various activities organized by other government agencies and the private sector. Among these are the launching of the Estrada administration's anti-poverty programs, the Agri-Aqua Fair and the 6^th International Agribusiness Exhibition and Conference . This was done as part of efforts to strengthen or expand institutional relations that would further empower the NDA as a service organization.
